Cranberry, Sultana & Orange Oat Cookies – Refined Sugar Free

These cookies are very tasty, like eat-six-in-the-space-of-an-evening kind of tasty (which of course isn’t something I have ever done..). They are also super easy and use honey as a sweetener. The “To eat or not to eat” refined sugar argument isn’t something I’ve looked into a huge amount but I’m always keen to reduce the amount of processed foods I eat so hopefully it’s a start in the right direction..!

Cookie Stack

This recipe is adapted from The Lean Machines and uses spelt flour which adds more texture and sultanas which I find much juicier than raisins. The addition of cranberries and orange zest and juice does add a Christmas-y vibe but live life like Wizzard and enjoy these all year round.

Cookie Stack

Makes 12, in 25 minutes. Recipe adapted from The Lean Machines.

  • 150g spelt flour
  • 100g oats
  • 60g sultanas
  • 60g cranberries
  • 1 1/2 tsp of baking powder
  • 1 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 100ml of honey
  • 3 tbsp of coconut oil
  • Juice & zest of one orange
  • 1 large free-range egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  1. Start by preheating the oven to 180℃.
  2. Melt the coconut oil either on the hob or in the microwave.
  3. Place all of the ingredients in a bowl and mix together until fully combined.
  4. Divide into portions about the size of an ice cream scoop and place well apart on a lined baking tray, flattening slightly.
  5. Bake for 10 minutes until the edges are starting to golden, remove and leave to cool.
